Hopcrofts Transport in 1948

Hopcrofts Transport is a fourth-generation, family owned and run Bulk and General Haulage Company based in Buckinghamshire and operating throughout the United Kingdom.  Founded in 1948, we originally operated in the agricultural industry as livestock hauliers.  For over forty years Henry Hopcroft and his son Peter were well-known faces at livestock markets throughout the South of England. In 1997 Peter’s son James joined the team having taken his City and Guilds of London HGV Motor Mechanics Qualifications whilst serving an apprenticeship at Volvo.

Following the sharp decline of the British livestock industry during the foot and mouth outbreak in the early 2000s, Hopcrofts Transport made the decision to restructure and start a new chapter in the haulage of agricultural commodities.

Today we run a large fleet of 44 tonne articulated lorries specialising in bulk tipping both for the agricultural and aggregate industry. With an interest in and commitment to renewable energy sources, we have recently diversified our services to include delivery of green waste products as well.

James Hopcroft now manages the business which prides itself in offering a professional and reliable service. With our extensive knowledge of the haulage industry at a local, regional, and national level we can offer customised packages, long or short-term contracts and accommodate any specialist requirements.

With its professionalism and experience, Hopcrofts Transport continues to grow as a family run business with a personal commitment to competitive prices and to reliability.
